His biography
Rodel Urani manifest a strong professional work ethic and is a quick learner, service-oriented, result driven, deep down and pragmatic practitioner in information security and computer networks and recently began to widen his subject areas adding information technology service management as well as governance to compensate generally his experience in business-computing best practices and technologies. He keeps himself up-to-date to the emerging trends of his fields of interest including acquisition on his own of internationally accepted standards’ documents and references to carry out his work effectively and efficiently.
He served in the academe for almost six years where he had been given a chance to lead the development of security courseware that includes initially a four term security electives followed by a subject mandatory for all undergraduate students taking computer science and information technology courses. He actively participated in the deliberation process and held cluster academic committee in preparation and during the accreditation as center of excellence in information technology.
While working full time in the academe he worked as a freelance security and network consultant (24/7 in almost four (4) months?), with involvement both in government and private sectors where he implements and supports wide range of security and networking technologies made from open source as well as proprietary products. He had direct interaction to vendors and customers to help them bridge and identify the correct specification needed of the business and to prevent possible abruptions that might happen during and after implementation process.
He held position of senior manager in a business process outsourcing’s technology unit where he formulated computing procedures, security policies and directed competent and dedicated staff.
He has conducted lectures in cross platform environment about security, networking (covers IPv4/6), and basic programming in different languages, databases, operating systems, application and office suite that can be utilized in the enterprise and productivity.
He finished his master's degree in information management and a commission officer in the armed service. He holds credentials in information security, systems architecture, telecommunications and service management.
He actively follows new trends and norms in several dimensions including information, Internet and business.
