FINALLY PUBLISHED
The international standard for the corporate governance of information technology, ISO/IEC 38500:2008 is now on publication stage and completion of main action. Subsequently, it will be sent for review and finality or confirmation of the standard.
ISO/IEC 38500:2008 main sources is Australian standard (AS 8015:2005), which determines six rationales such as:
Establish responsibilities
Plan to best support organizations
Acquire information technology validly
Ensure performance when required
Ensure comformance with rules
Ensure respect for human factors
The original publication, ISO/IEC 29382, was made as a fast track of the Astralian standard and was finally renamed it to ISO/IEC 38500. As one of the international standards, it is being made to support and guide organizations of any size.
